Argentina locals defeat Venezuela 4-1
Boca Juniors' Pablo Mouche scored twice as an Argentina side made up entirely of domestic players easily defeated Venezuela 4-1 in an international friendly Wednesday
The match was a chance for coach Sergio Batista to look at players who might make his team for the Copa America continental championship in July.
Boca player Cristian Chavez and Luciano Aued of Gimnasia also scored for Argentina. Daniel Arismendi scored the Venezuelan goal.
''We played a great game,'' Mouche said. ''Wearing the national team shirt is beautiful.''
Venezuela also used a team made up largely of locally based talent.
The match also served to open the new Bicentenario stadium in San Juan, which will be used for three matches during the Copa America which is set for July 1-24.
Argentina will field its full squad, including Lionel Messi, for friendlies against the United States on March 26 and Costa Rica on March 29.
