The Serbian centre-back was stretchered off the field with a knee injury as the Red Devils lost 2-1 to the Swiss side on Wednesday night to bow out of the Champions League. There has been no confirmation yet about the extent of the problem, with Vidic set to undergo a scan after leaving the stadium on crutches. However, the fear is that Vidic has suffered ligament damage which could rule him out for a significant period of the season. The 30-year-old's representative, Silvano Martina, admits it looks likely that his client will be facing an extended period on the sidelines. Martina revealed those concerns as he fended off questions in Italy, where Vidic was connected with a switch to Juventus during the summer. The agent does not believe there was ever any chance of Vidic leaving Old Trafford as he is such an integral figure in Sir Alex Ferguson's plans, while his immediate focus will be on getting fit as quickly as possible. "The interest of Juventus? It seems to me out of place to talk about it, after the injury to the cruciate ligament yesterday," Martina is quoted as saying by calciomercato.com. "He'll be out of action for several months, so even if it were true, now it would have no sense to talk about it. "In any case, there never was anything concrete, but the media sometimes don't know what to write. "Interest from other clubs? In the market a club comes forward for a player when they know that something is broken between him and his current side. "Instead, Nemanja is the captain of Manchester United, not just any club."
