Wolves waive forward Greg Smith

The Minnesota Timberwolves cleared out some roster space before the start of the NBA free-agent period by waiving forward/center Greg Smith on Thursday.

Smith signed a pair of 10-day contracts in March with Minnesota before being inked for the remainder of the season as well as 2016-17. He had a non-guaranteed salary of $1,139,123 for this upcoming season.
