Welcome to another edition of "Weekend Blitz," a column that will appear on FOXSports.com each Friday during the football season. Consider this one of your must-read features as you wrap up the week and head into a Saturday and Sunday filled with pigskin. We'll be giving out NFL picks, possibly some college football picks and looking back at the week that was in the world of sports and pop culture.

Please come back every Friday or check FOXSports.com/Buzzer or follow me, @JimmyTraina, on Twitter.

THE PICKS

After a pathetic 0-5 two weeks ago, we bounced back with a solid 3-1 effort last week. That brings the season record to 19-16-1. Let's build on that and get the record to a more respectable place. Four games this week and I like each one a lot, which is always scary.

EAGLES -7 VS. PANTHERS: This is going to sound crazy, but I don't think the Eagles lose anything going from Nick Foles to Mark Sanchez at quarterback. Remember this about Sanchez: He had success early in his career when the Jets had some talent around him. He has plenty of talent around him in Philadelphia and will play well in Chip Kelly's system. Meanwhile, Carolina comes in to Philly having lost five of its past seven games.  The Panthers' weak offense just won't be able to keep up with Eagles in this game.

NINERS +5.5 AT SAINTS: Neither one of these teams is what they used to be, however the San Francisco decline has been steeper. For some reason, the Niners have gone away from their running game. After last week's heartbreaking loss against the Rams, expect San Francisco to pound the ball and keep this game close with its second-ranked defense (291.9 yards per game) in the NFL.

CHIEFS  -1.5 AT BILLS: The Kyle Orton Magic has to run out sometime. We think it'll be this week when he faces a stingy Chiefs defense. Keep in mind, Buffalo will be without running backs C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson. That didn't matter in their first game without the duo two weeks ago because they played the lowly Jets. It will matter against a K.C., which has the best pass defense in the NFL (199.4 yards per game).

STEELERS -4 AT JETS: You always have to pause when you see a line this out of whack. Don't pause on this one. The Jets are in a complete free fall on and off the field and now the hottest quarterback in the league comes to town. Ben Roethlisberger (12 touchdown passes in his last two games) is on fire and he's not going to be stopped by New York's weak secondary. Michael Vick remains the starter over Geno Smith for the Jets, but that won't matter. New York's offense doesn't have the firepower to hang with Pittsburgh.

WHAT I LIKED THIS WEEK

* This young Bruins fan fist-bumping Boston players as they came off the ice after practice.

* Rams defensive end Chris Long doing a power rankings of the months of the year.

* Tom Brady's reaction to Rob Gronkowski's crazy circus catch last Sunday.

* The Cowboys official hashtag for this Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London could lead to a lot of laughs.

* Mike Francesa's response to critics who blasted him this week.

* Tim Tebow getting snubbed by Kacey Musgraves at the CMA Awards.

* The domain name "Nets.com" is up for auction on eBay.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE THIS WEEK

* Alex Rodriguez reportedly urinated on the floor of his cousin's house as a threat to keep quite about A-Rod's steroid use.

* A "shy bladder" group wants DirecTV to pull their "Awkward Rob Lowe" commercial.
