"This is such a proud and special day for Vladimir Guerrero, his family, his countrymen in the Dominican Republic and of course all Angels fans. His election into the Hall Of Fame is so meaningful and impactful for so many. We are proud and privileged that he becomes the first player enshrined in Cooperstown wearing the Angels logo. He represented four quality organizations during his playing career and his induction is special for each," said Angels owner Arte Moreno in a statement.

Guerrero spent 2004-09 with the club, winning the 2004 American League MVP award and helped the Angels to five straight AL West titles.

Guerrero was a member of the Montreal Expos for the first eight years of his career (1996-2003).

The Angels started out as an expansion team in 1961. Reggie Jackson is among those who played for the Angels but has a different cap in the Hall.
