Daniel Evarts grew up loving the Detroit Tigers because his parents did.
He remembers listening to Ernie Harwell call the games on a little transistor radio, with his dad sitting next to him on their living-room couch.
Evarts has now passed on that passion for the Tigers to his 3-year-old daughter, Elly. She sits with mom and dad almost every night during the summer and watches the home team on television.
Her favorite Tigers player is Justin Verlander, but she knows the lineup from top to bottom.
