UFC Ultimate Knockouts races the clock

Published May. 7, 2014 7:00 a.m. ET

You know what's better than run-of-the-mill knockouts? Really fast knockouts. Lightning fast ones. Like the type that happen so quick, you barely get a chance to settle on to your couch before you're jumping off of it and yelling profanities that are going to get you booted out of the condo association.

What's great about those are you can quickly re-watch the fight from start to finish and figure out what exactly went right for the guy pumping his fists in the octagon and so very wrong for the guy briefly separated from consciousness.

These finishes are eminently addictive, so it makes sense that the UFC finally put together a UFC Ultimate Knockouts edition comprised solely of sub one-minute KO's.

This is short-attention span theater.

Among the memorable moments brought back in all of their glory: B.J. Penn in his youth and his later years, Nate Marquardt sends Demian Maia airborne, The Korean Zombie goes feasting, and Ryan Jimmo practices his robot. Also featured are Johny Hendricks, Jens Pulver, Anthony Johnson and yes, Duane "Bang" Ludwig's long-disputed fastest KO of all-time is in there, too.

UFC Ultimate Knockouts: Fastest Knockouts airs Wednesday night at 7:30 pm on FOX Sports 1.
