Twins recall Jose Berrios from Triple-A

The Minnesota Twins have recalled right-handed pitcher Jose Berrios from Triple-A Rochester. The 22-year-old rookie will start Monday's game vs. the Kansas City Royals.

Berrios finished his Triple-A season on August 31 vs. Syracuse with 8.0 innings, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out a season-high 14 batters. The Puerto Rico native posted a 10-5 record with a 2.51 ERA and 125 strikeouts in 17 starts (111 1/3 innings) for the Red Wings this season.

Berrios will be making his 10th start with the Twins on Monday. He has gone 2-4 with a 9.24 over nine starts (37 innings) with the team in three stints this year.
