Twins' offense heating up, moving on after slow start
The Minnesota Twins are putting their historically rough start in the rearview mirror.
After losing nine straight to start the season thanks to a floundering offense, the Twins flipped the script emphatically against the Los Angeles Angels.
The Twins' bats came alive at Target Field, with everyone from Eduardo Nunez and Oswaldo Arcia to new addition Byung Ho Park chipping in to power Minnesota to a series sweep and a more respectable 3-9 record.
Nunez has made the most of his latest opportunity with the big club and racked up six hits against the Angels, while Park's solo blast on Saturday was the sixth-longest home run of the season per MLB's Statscast, traveling just over 452 feet.
Twins 0-9 start vs. last three games
Minnesota's offense has improved by more than three runs per game, while their defense held the Angels to 3.3 runs per game after averaging an even four in nine games against the Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox.
The Twins' offense has seen a huge turnaround with runners in scoring position.
They were eight for 28 against the Angels in those scenarios after managing just five such hits during their nine-game losing streak.
Monday's matchup with Milwaukee presents an intriguing matchup, as the surprisingly effective Brewers will put the Twins' turnaround to the test.
