Travis Frederick says contract will be signed before training camp
IRVING — Travis Frederick's agent Joe Panos watched the Dallas Cowboys' last day of mini camp at Valley Ranch on Thursday.
With Panos, who also represents left tackle Tyron Smith, in attendance, it could be a sign that Frederick is close to getting his rookie contract finalized.
"I've heard that it's almost done," Frederick said. "I know that it will be done before camp. It's not something that I'm worried about. I'm sure it will be done. As far as I know, it's pretty cut and dry, for the most part. With the CBA [it's slotted]. I don't even know how many of the other rookies have signed."
On Thursday, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones declined to discuss where the team is with Frederick's rookie deal.
"I'm not going to comment on anything until the 14th [of July]," Jones said. "Never have, never will."
The Cowboys have already signed cornerback B.W. Webb, running back Joseph Randle and outside linebacker DeVonte Holloman, the team's fourth, fifth and sixth round draft picks from this year.
