Tom Brady's supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen sings in new ad
By Tully Corcoran, FOXSports.com Tom Brady’s wife, Gisele, the supermodel? Yeah, her. She would like to pass herself off as a singer in this new ad for a clothing company. She’s singing The Kinks’ “All Day and All of the Night,” with that classic guitar riff. And a lot of people think her voice got, oh, a little buttered up and melted down in a computer somewhere. See what you think . . .
So, yeah, that definitely sounds auto-tuned, but the weirdest reaction I’ve seen is to be angry about it. It’s an advertisement. Since when do we hold advertisements to some kind of noble artistic ideal? As far as I can tell, this is not an attempt at starting a serious music career. She’s selling the recording of that song, yes, but I don’t see much of an audience for auto-tuned covers of classic rock songs, sung by supermodels. I don’t think any record label would make that their earnest attempt at launching a career. This is a gimmick that might make a few bucks or it might not, but it doesn’t matter as long as the clothing company gets some attention. In other words, it’s nothing to be upset about.
