This is obviously not a good time for an injury to your starting quarterback, not that there ever is a time for that. Many had extremely high expectations for Bridgewater this season, some even going as far to say that he could lead the Vikings to the Super Bowl.
Bridgewater finished the regular season last year with 3,231 yards and 14 touchdowns. Those numbers were expected to rise as the Vikings added another weapon in rookie wideout Laquon Treadwell. The arrival of Treadwell combined with another season alongside Adrian Peterson, Stefon Diggs and Charles Johnson spelled a great amount of potential success for Bridgewater and the Vikings.
It will be interesting to see what Zimmer has to say about the injury and the state of the team as Vikings players were seen visibly upset immediately following Bridgewater going down:
Bad scene. Bridgewater down in pocket grabbing left knee. Players freaked out, swearing and praying. Immobilized. Practice halted #Vikings

In a Q&A with USA Today’s Tom Pelissero, Zimmer said, “The thing about Teddy, and everybody talks about this and talks about that — he knows how to win, and what else is there with the quarterback?”
There was clearly a lot of optimism about Bridgewater this season from everyone around the Vikings organization. Now all that the state of Minnesota can do is hope for the best.
