Sporting Kansas City forward Cameron Porter will be out for the rest of the 2017 season after suffering a broken fibula and ligament damage in his right ankle during training Tuesday.
Porter, 24, is scheduled to undergo reconstructive surgery next Tuesday.
Porter has made two appearances this season for Sporting KC, including a start in a 2-0 road win over the Houston Dynamo in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 on June 28. He has played eight matches in all competitions since joining the club in July 2016, having spent his first two professional seasons with the Montreal Impact.
