KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Mike Magee scored in the 40th minute to give the Chicago Fire a 1-1 draw with Sporting Kansas City on Sunday.

Sporting failed to clear a loose ball in its own end and Chicago midfielder Alex collected it and found Magee on the left flank. Magee settled the pass and calmly beat goalkeeper Eric Kronberg for his fifth goal of the season.

Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson made two saves against C.J. Sapong in the 91st minute to preserve the draw.
