RG3: God is on our side

How are the Washington Redskins are pulling of one miraculous win after another — a run that has one of the worst teams in the NFL last season on the cusp of a playoff spot?

Robert Griffin III knows how ... and he says the team needs to give thanks to a higher power.

"God's on our side," Griffin said Tuesday, according to USA Today.

The star rookie quarterback led the Redskins to a 17-16 win Monday night against the New York Giants — Washington's third straight victory.

Divine intervention? How about the fumble/touchdown that Griffin was part of that gave the Redskins their first lead — when RG3 was hit from behind and fumbled, only for it to end up in the hands of receiver Josh Morgan, who ran it in for a score?

The win gave the Redskins a 6-6 record, one game out of an NFC wild-card spot, but also one game behind the 7-6, first-place, Super Bowl champion Giants in the NFC East.

The Redkins host the 9-3 Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
