Reinhardt, Johnson lead Marquette in home-opening win over Howard


MILWAUKEE -- Katin Reinhardt and Jajuan Johnson scored 14 points apiece to lead Marquette in an 81-49 win over Howard on Monday night.
Haanif Cheatham and Markus Howard added 12 points each and Sam Hauser had 10 points for Marquette (2-0), which shot 51 percent and had 22 assists. Howard and Hauser each went 3 for 4 from 3-point range.
The Golden Eagles took the lead for good midway through the opening half during a 14-2 run fueled by a layup and 3-pointer from Howard to give them a 20-13 advantage. Marquette continued to pull away in the second half, outscoring Howard 47-26 and edging Howard in total rebounds 39-34.
Solomon Mangham sank a trio of 3-pointers and finished with 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting for Howard (0-2). James Miller added eight points and four steals for the Bison.
