Rays sign reliever Ronald Belisario to minor league deal

The Tampa Bay Rays signed reliever Ronald Belisario to a minor league deal Saturday with an invite to spring training.

The right-hander is a career 24-20 with a 3.75 ERA, 267 strikeouts, 12 saves and 84 holds in parts of five major-league seasons (331 1/3 innings) with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox. He was 4-8 with a 5.56 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 66 1/3 innings with the White Sox last year.

Belisario, 32, signed his first contract as an amateur free agent with the Florida Marlins in 1999. He made his major-league debut with the Dodgers in 2009.
