Though Indiana Pacers forward Alex Poythress now has a standard NBA contract after beginning the season on a two-way deal, his days playing in the NBA G League aren't done quite yet.
The Pacers announced Saturday that they have assigned Poythress to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, their affiliate in the G League. The 24-year-old Kentucky product has played in 23 games with the Pacers this season, averaging 4.1 minutes, 1.1 points and 0.7 rebounds per contest. After being a semi-regular member of the Pacers' rotation in late December and early January, Poythress has now appeared in just two of the team's last 17 games.
In six games with the Mad Ants earlier this season, Poythress averaged 33.4 minutes, 20 points and nine rebounds.
