Oklahoma women defeat West Virginia 67-55 in Big 12 tourney

DALLAS (AP) -- Peyton Little scored 15 points with three 3-pointers and Kaylon Williams added 14 points and 10 rebounds as second-seeded Oklahoma cruised past No. 7 seed West Virginia 67-55 on Saturday night.

The win advances Oklahoma (20-10) to the semifinals of the Big 12 Conference tournament on Sunday against Texas Christian or Texas.

Little buried a 3-pointer to cap a 9-0 run by Oklahoma as the Sooners broke away to a 34-20 halftime lead. The Sooners maintained a safe edge throughout the second half.

Bria Holmes led West Virginia (18-14) with 17 points, Averee Fields added 13 and Breana McDonald 12.

With five blocked shots, West Virginia broke a 1984 school record with 210.

Holmes and McDonald hit consecutive 3-pointers as the Mountaineers came as close as 57-50, forcing an Oklahoma timeout.

Williams hit a jumper out of the huddle and Little capped a 6-0 run with a trey.
