INDIANAPOLIS - Ohio State wide receiver Corey Smith was ejected in the second quarter of Saturday night's Big Ten Championship Game for targeting on a crackback block.
The hit was immediately flagged, and after a replay review the officials ejected Smith. Because the ejection happened in the first half Smith won't have to sit out any of Ohio State's next game.
Smith's ejection was about the only thing that went wrong in the first half for Ohio State, which took a 38-0 lead into halftime. Smith caught two passes for 30 yards before his ejection from new Buckeyes quarterback Cardale Jones, who threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns in his first half as a starter.
