KANPUR, India (AP) New Zealand dominated the second morning of the first test against India, reaching 71-1 in its second innings on Friday after having bowled out the home side for 318.

Tom Latham (25 not out) and captain Kane Williamson (21 not out) were the unbeaten batsmen at lunch.

Latham put on 35 runs for the opening wicket with Martin Guptill (21), who showed some signs of rediscovering his lost form by hitting three boundaries before he was trapped lbw by Umesh Yadav.
