Marlins acquire minor leaguer Craig Stem from Dodgers for Kyle Jensen
The Miami Marlins acquired right-hander Craig Stem from the Los Angeles Dodgers as the player to be named later in last month's trade for minor-league outfielder Kyle Jensen.
Stem, who will begin the 2015 season with Double-A Jacksonville, was a 15th-round pick by the Dodgers in the 2011 draft out of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. He turns 25 next month.
The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder went 0-5 with a 5.61 ERA and two saves in 45 relief appearances between Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and Double-A Chattanooga. Over four minor-league seasons, Stem has gone 6-9 with a 4.28 ERA and 23 saves in 136 outings (one start).
Jensen, 26, hit .260 with 29 doubles, 27 home runs and 92 RBI in 133 games for Triple-A New Orleans in 2014. He has played both corner outfield positions and first base.
