Lions-Bucs Breakdown: Suh leads charge to end road skid

The Suh Nation should not be accused of overreacting with its assault on the ballot box to vote its favorite son into the Pro Bowl.

If anything, Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham thinks Ndamukong Suh should be getting a higher vote count.

"I don't know anybody who's playing better than this guy," Cunningham said Thursday afternoon.

Cunningham made sure his listeners knew he wasn't limiting his analysis of Suh to defensive tackles -- where the star rookie has made an impact on fans and left an imprint on running backs and quarterbacks.

"I'm talking all positions," Cunningham said.

Suh is being recognized in the Pro Bowl voting. With voting continuing through Monday night, Suh leads all NFL defensive tackles, with 300,680 votes. Haloti Ngata of the AFC's Baltimore Ravens is No. 2. with 249,980.

It's not even close in the NFC, where B.J. Raji of the Packers is second to Suh, with 146,231 votes. Players and coaches cast Pro Bowl votes next week. Each group's vote -- fans, coaches and players -- counts a third toward making up the AFC and NFC Pro Bowl rosters.

The teams will be announced Dec. 28. Suh's last chance to make an impression on all voters is Sunday at Tampa Bay.

If anyone's been watching football this year, Suh should be a lock to make the Pro Bowl, along with being first team All Pro. He's that good.

Cunningham already ranks Suh with the best defensive linemen in history.
