MIAMI — LeBron James now has a Top 40 of really great weeks.

For the 40th time in his 10-year career, the Miami Heat star on Monday was named NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Nobody in NBA history has won more awards for Player of the Week, although it must be said that before 2001-02, there was one award per week rather than one for each conference.

It's the third time James has won the award this season. He got it for averaging 25.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists as the Heat went 3-0.

James kept his streak alive of having scored 20 or more points in all 24 of Miami's game this season. Including last season's playoffs, James has gotten 20 or more in 45 straight games.

"He can roll out of bed with one foot and score 20,'' Heat center Chris Bosh said. "We expect it. I expect it every time.’’

James' streak could reach 50 on Dec. 31 at Orlando. That's the day after his 28th birthday.

Perhaps he'll also then be celebrating yet another award for Player of the Week.
