On Friday afternoon at Progressive Field, Cleveland Indians pitcher Corey Kluber was presented with his 2014 American League Cy Young Award by a very special former Indian.
Gaylord Perry, a two-time winner of the award, and the first Cleveland Indian to earn the honor threw out the first pitch at the Tribe's home opener and gave Kluber his award in a special pregame ceremony.
Kluber joins Perry, CC Sabathia and Cliff Lee as the only pitchers to win the award as Indians.
The award was first given to pitchers in both leagues in 1968.
