Silly NFL and its rules to protect players from head injuries.
Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed probably wished it was 2009 on Sunday when he caught a pass near the end zone from Robert Griffin III. He turned towards the end zone when Dallas Cowboys safety Jeff Heath tried to make a tackle, but instead tore Reed's helmet off.

Reed was left open to skip into the end zone, but no dice. No touchdown.
Back in 2010, the NFL changed its rules to say that when a player loses his helmet, the play is immediately whistled dead. Reed is undoubtedly wishing that rule could be selectively applied in this case.
