High school coach's wife shot to death
Police were searching Tuesday for a gunman who opened fire at the home of a Mississippi high school football coach, killing the coach's wife and wounding the coach, WTVA-TV reported.
New Albany Police Chief David Grisham says the shooting happened just before 10 p.m. Monday.
Grisham says it appears Amanda Price may have gone outside with their dog and startled someone in the back yard. She began to scream and was shot.
Grisham says coach Ron Price, who was inside the house, was shot while responding to his wife's screams. He was brought to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo for treatment.
Grisham said there weren't any suspects in the shooting. The attack occurred just after the couple returned home. Their three-year-old daughter was in the house but was not harmed.
Police said they have no suspects and at this point believe it was a random shooting.
Ron Price had recently completed his fourth season as head coach at New Albany High School.
