Hawks' Kent Bazemore writes heartfelt thank you letter to Atlanta
Atlanta, and Wednesday the recently re-signed Hawks swingman discussed why he wanted to stay put in a full-page ad in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
In part, Bazemore wrote "during free agency, I knew in my heart that Atlanta is where I wanted to stay. This city has become my home and it's where I want to continue to grow both personally and professionally for the next four years and beyond. It's the city that my family and I want to be in."
The 27-year-old, who inked a four-year, $70 million deal after reportedly spurning offers from the Lakers and Rockets, averaged 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds last season. It was the most productive full season of Bazemore's career, and included 3.8 defensive win shares and 4.1 win shares overall, both the bests over his four seasons in the NBA.
