PHOENIX -- Carlos Gomez and Mark Reynolds hit their first home runs of spring training and also doubled, and Marco Estrada allowed four hits in six scoreless innings Tuesday in the Milwaukee Brewers' 9-3 win over a Texas Rangers' split squad.
Batting leadoff for the second straight game, Gomez got the Brewers' first hit with a fourth-inning double and scored on Jonathan Lucroy's groundout.
Reynolds doubled home Rickie Weeks in the fifth, and Gomez hit a three-run homer off Martin Perez. Reynolds added a two-run drive in the sixth against Michael Kirkman that bounced off the top of the center-field wall and was upheld by video review.
Engel Beltre's bunt single was upheld after a video review in the second -- Reynolds' foot was off first base when he received the throw from third baseman Aramis Ramirez.
Estrada struck out five and walked none.
"Everything was working today," he said. "We even threw some curveballs today, which I thought were pretty good."
Perez allowed five runs and five hits in five innings.
"The first three innings were real good," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "He did struggle with his command in the fourth, and then in the fifth he pitched around some things, but we lost the ball in the sun and that did it."
STARTING TIME
Estrada is all but certain to open the season as Milwaukee's No. 3 starter, behind Yovani Gallardo and Kyle Lohse.
In five exhibition starts, Estrada is 3-0 with a 2.70 ERA and has not allowed an earned run over his last 11 2-3 innings.
NO HOMECOMING
First baseman Prince Fielder didn't make the trip to Maryvale Baseball Park, where he spent his first seven big league spring trainings with the Brewers. Fielder is batting .256 (10 for 39) in 14 games with a home run, four doubles and five RBI.
POWER SURGE
Reynolds, a non-roster player vying for a spot at first base, entered hitting .156 (5 for 32).
