Fantasy football can be a cruel game to play. Some weeks are odd like last week. Guys you didn’t expect to put up huge fantasy points for your bench or the waiver wire. Let’s see who’s worth a stash and who should be left for later.
The Injury Report:
Thankfully this segment is short this week. There weren’t too many big name fantasy football impact player who saw an injury during week six game action. Unfortunately, there were a couple.
Green Bay Packer Running Back – Eddie Lacy
Eddie Lacy actually got injured a week ago but he played in the game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. He played surprisingly well against the Cowboys on this hurt ankle. Lacy compiled 17 carries for 65 yards and hauled in one pass for six yards in Green Bays loss to Dallas on Sunday afternoon.
However, fantasy football owners that played Lacy won’t be happy about his final stat line. Scoring just 7.1 points in a standard league may have left a few teams in a bind. James Starks missed the game due to a knee injury. Lacy is listed as questionable to play this Thursday versus the Chicago Bears. We will get back to the Green Bay backfield situation shortly in the waiver wire section.
Green Bay Packer Wide Receiver – Devante Adams
DeVante Adams left Sundays game against the Cowboys with a head injury. He got evaluated for a concussion during the third quarter after Cowboys linebacker, Sean Lee, laid him out. Adams status for Thursday night’s game against the Chicago Bears remains uncertain.
Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback – Ben Roethlisberger
Ben Roethlisberger injured his knee in the Steelers loss to the Miami Dolphins yesterday. The Steelers quarterback later revealed that “Big Ben” was dealing with a partially torn left meniscus in his knee. He underwent successful knee surgery yesterday and isn’t expected to be out too long.
Chicago Bears Wide Receiver – Eddie Royal
Eddie Royal may have been a popular add in your league a couple of weeks ago after his 17.10 scoring festival against a suspect Detroit Lion defense during week four. Since then, Royals dealt with the injury bug. He suffered a calf injury and now he’s dealing with a toe ailment on top of that. Stay away from Royal in all fantasy football leagues for the time being.
Bye Weeks for Week 7
There are two teams on bye this week. They are the Carolina Panthers and the Dallas Cowboys. If you have any of theses teams players, take them out of your lineup this week. The next section may help you fill in the void for this week. Let’s jump into the waiver section.

Cameron Meredith – Wide Receiver, Chicago Bears (32.3%)
The Chicago Bears may have found a great player to take the place of the injured Kevin White. The undrafted free agent out of Illinois State looked great in his previous two games as a professional NFL player and most importantly looked good for fantasy owners.
Cameron Meredith hauled in 20 passes for 243 yards and one touchdown the last two games combined. He’s broken the 100 receiving yard stat line in both games as well.
The 6’3″ 201 pounds behemoth of a wideout received 12 and 15 targets the previous two weeks. Brian Hoyer seems to have built trust in Meredith. You should put stock in Meredith also. When you watch the Chicago Bears play, number 81 stands out from the rest.
Take a look at this play against the Indianapolis Colts he made to get open in the end zone for a touchdown.

Moving forward, Ajayi needs to be owned in all leagues. Arian Foster owners (I’m speaking to myself here) take special note of what Ajayi did against the Steelers defense. The running back position doesn’t look like Fosters by himself anymore.
I see this as a “hot hand” situation moving forward. However looks the best during a particular game will get the majority of the workload. This could vary week to week. Pick Ajayi up and hope that the coaching staff feeds him and makes him the workhorse in the not too distant future.

Kenny Britt – Wide Receiver, Los Angeles Rams (13.1%)
More than likely Britt is available in your league. You might be thinking I don’t want a Rams pass catcher on my team. They don’t throw the ball enough. That’s where you’d be wrong. Quarterback Case Keenum has thrown for more than 250 yards the last three games topping out at 321 yards and three passing touchdowns last weekend versus the Detroit Lions.

The Rams have a few plus matchups for the passing game to be effective for the next few weeks. LA takes on the Giants, Panthers, Jets, Dolphins and Saints the next five weeks. All of those defenses struggle against the passing game. Kenny Britt is a pass catcher for the Rams making him all the more valuable with that kind of schedule moving forward.
Britt’s caught 30 passes for 492 yards and two touchdowns this season for Los Angeles. He hauled in seven receptions for 136 yards and two scores against the Lions on Sunday. That will do Kenny. KB must be owned in all leagues.

James White – Running Back, New England Patriots (49.3%)
I can’t believe that James White isn’t owned in more leagues. The man is on the high powered, throw first, New England Patriots offense with Tom Brady as his quarterback. Somewhat quietly, White’s had a good season, especially in points per reception leagues (PPR).
White accumulated 24.7 fantasy points last weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals. He caught eight passes for 47 yards and two touchdowns during the game. The targets were there as well. White’s been targeted by 15 times since Tom Brady returned to quarterback the New England Patriots two weeks ago.
Fantasy football owners need to grab White. He’s a good bye week or injury fill-in for standard league owners as well. White put up 16.7 fantasy points last weekend in a standard league. Put in a waiver claim or spend a little bit of your FAB budget on this guy, particularly in PPR formats.

Ty Montgomery – Wide Receiver (0.2%) Wide Receiver, Green Bay Packers
Ty Montgomery is due for a huge workload this Thursday Night against the Chicago Bears. Don’t expect many rushing attempts for the receiver but do expect a few catches out of the backfield that could lead to a solid outing for the possible defacto running back this weekend.
He could be the starter this weekend due to Eddie Lacy and James Stark’s injuries. This makes him a viable play in all leagues.
expect a few catches out of the backfield that could lead to a solid outing
Last weekend against the Cowboys, Montgomery hauled in 10 passes on 12 targets for 98 yards. He also added three rushes for six yards finishing the game with 104 total yards. Unfortunately, Montgomery fumbled on one of his rushing attempts lowering his fantasy point total to 8.4 points in standard leagues.
Montgomery will have more upside in a PPR league but if you’re in a pinch for running back help this week, it wouldn’t hurt picking him up in standard leagues as well.

Knile Davis – Running Back, Green Bay Packers
Due to the uncertainty of when either Eddie Lacy or James Starks could be back, the Packers traded for Kansas City Chiefs running back, Knile Davis.
More from KC Kingdom
Davis probably won’t play this Thursday night against the Chicago Bears due to having to learn the playbook and offensive schemes for his new team.
Adding Davis this week could be helpful to your team. We know that James Starks is out for at least another three weeks due to having knee surgery a few days ago. Eddie Lacy doesn’t look right with his ankle injury and could miss multiple weeks if the injury gets worse or is worse than we think it is now.
Davis could be the workhorse back in the near future for the Green Bay Packers, at least for a week or two. Don’t grab him unless you’re in a deep league and or are in desperate need of running back help.
Davis’ has 233 rushes for 775 yards and 11 touchdowns in his career. He’s 25-years-old and hasn’t been used a lot so he should be fresh for the Packers and your fantasy football squad. Go bid a buck or two on Davis and stash him for later.
