Dodgers' Kershaw set to enter wonderful world of fatherhood
Clayton Kershaw is having a remarkable season, and soon he will be able to add a new milestone: fatherhood.
Kershaw and his wife, Ellen, are expecting their first child, a girl, due in January.
As for his emotions on impending fatherhood, Kershaw told FOX Sports West on Saturday: "It's a little bit of everything. Obviously, I'm really excited. I've just been talking to some of my buddies who have kids. I'm looking forward to it."
Since the baby is due in January, the Kershaw's won't be making their annual offseason trip to Africa. They usually travel in January as part of the Kershaw's Challenge foundation. They've helped build orphanages among other things.
Kershaw, who is an only child, said everyone in he and his wife's families are excited to welcome a girl.
"I kind of wanted it to be a girl, to be honest," Kershaw said. "Ellen's (siblings) have three boys. This will be the first girl, so that's pretty cool."
We know he can throw a curveball, but can Kershaw change a diaper?
