Demetrious Johnson faces Tim Elliott in the TUF 24 Finale main event
Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson officially has an opponent for Saturday night at "The Ultimate Fighter" 24 Finale.
Tim Elliott completed his run through the tournament on "The Ultimate Fighter" Wednesday night with a win over Hiromasa Ogikubo so now he gets his shot at Johnson and the 125-pound title.
Elliott returns to the UFC after exiting the promotion in 2015 following a trio of losses inside the Octagon.
The veteran contender earned his way back with three wins in a row outside the UFC while capturing the flyweight title in Titan Fighting Championships.
Elliott then tore through the competition on "The Ultimate Fighter" with four consecutive wins, including victories over Charlie Alaniz, Matt Schnell, and Eric Shelton.
He faces a Herculean task going up against Johnson as the flyweight champion looks for his ninth consecutive victory while currently sitting atop the pound-for-pound rankings in the UFC.
Johnson vs. Elliott will headline the card on Saturday night airing live on FS1 with the co-main event featuring a battle of coaches when Joseph Benavidez meets Henry Cejudo.
