Dale Jr. gets new dog - who makes himself at home in Truex's bus

Well, that didn't take too long.

Earnhardt posted two Twitter pictures on Friday of his new furry friend, an Irish Setter named Captain Augustus McCrae -- "Gus" for short -- after the driver's favorite character in the 1989 TV mini-series, "Lonesome Dove."

Earnhardt, whose tweet of Gus had been favorited more than 4,900 times as of this writing, is clearly excited about the new addition.

Ditto for girlfriend Amy Reimann, who was pictured holding the dog in one of Junior's tweets introducing Gus.

As for Gus, he's been making the rounds this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway and is clearly not bashful around Earnhardt's fellow Sprint Cup Series drivers -- as Martin Truex Jr. can attest.
