PHOENIX -- The Diamondbacks will unveil redesigned uniforms on Dec. 3 -- though there are no changes expected to the team's color scheme or logo.

"This is an exciting time for our franchise, as we have a unique opportunity to continue to evolve our uniforms," team president and CEO Derrick Hall told the team's official web site. "We have worked closely with our players for a year and a half to get their input, as well as feedback from fans and some of the top uniform experts in the world."

Hall said the redesign process began in 2014 and included input from the players.

"It's been great to be a part of the process over the past year-plus in helping the Diamondbacks come up with uniforms that will look good and keep the tradition of both our franchise and the sport of baseball," first baseman Paul Goldschmidt said. "As a player, the most important thing we can do is go out and put a winning team on the field."

The Diamondbacks featured a purple and teal color scheme from their debut in 1998 through 2006, then switched to Sedona Red and black prior to the 2007 season, when they also changed their primary logo.

The team wore throwback purple and teal uniforms for all Thursday home games this season.
