Cowboys VP: Dez Bryant out 10-12 weeks 'inaccurate'

Cowboys Vice President Stephen Jones denounced reports Sunday morning that receiver Dez Bryant will be out 10 to 12 weeks with a broken right foot as opposed to the six to eight weeks originally believed by the team.

"Well, first of all, that's inaccurate," said Jones on the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network on Sunday. "Our time table hasn't changed. I think we initially came out with four to six, which was still realistic, but our trainers ended up moving it to sdix to eight. Nothing's changed.

"The way we did the procedure, it's my understanding, is what we always do with this type of procedure. And there was nothing added to it for Dez. That's the way our doctor goes about fixing that Jones Fracture. So, there's been no change in any timelines and we're very optimistic. Dez was in last week doing some good work, and we feel good about it."

Bryant broke the fifth metatarsal of his right foot early into the fourth quarter of last week's 27-26 win over the New York Giants. The two-time Pro Bowler, who signed a five-year, $70 million contract in July, underwent surgery late Monday afternoon to place a screw in his foot along with a bone graph procedure.
