Cowboys in awe of British fans' support
LONDON -- The entire Dallas Cowboys team took part in a fan forum at the NFL's All Access event the day before the 11th International Series game between the Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars. Dallas players were inspired by the outpouring of support from their British fans.
"Well, I think the special thing is we get to come up here and communicate and see all the support I saw," quarterback Tony Romo said.
Throngs of Cowboys fans encircled the stage where the entire team stood to be showcased and also answer questions about the trip and the impending game with the Jaguars.
"I'm feeling good," the 34-year-old signal caller said.
"I still don't know what a transverse process is. So, you know, it's been great to be here in London. I expect you guys to take over that stadium tomorrow."
Star receiver Dez Bryant, who has been held in check the past two games while his spirit and leadership have not, led the crowd in a chant of "America's Team."
Said Bryant: "I want to know if London is America's Team. When I say 'America,' you say 'Team.'"
The crowd responded enthusiastically to Bryant's chants.
"Made my absolute year!" Scottish fan Stephen Gillick said after seeing the entire Cowboys team on stage.
"You have no idea. I've waited a year for this. It's brilliant, honestly. It couldn't get any better until tomorrow when we win!"
Fifth-year safety Barry Church recognizes the Cowboys have supportive fans "all over the place," and hopes to secure a win for fans like Stephen Gillick on Sunday.
"We're just going to go out there and try to get a victory for them and hopefully we get that done."
"It means a lot to the team," Romo told the crowd, and made them a promise.
"They'll go back, they'll think about this, and they'll remember it for a long time."
Head coach Jason Garrett couldn't agree with his quarterback more.
"I agree with Tony. I think it's really, really important that everybody here in London and all across Great Britain understand that the Dallas Cowboys are not only America's Team, but they're Great Britain's Team too."
Tomorrow, "Great Britain's Team" looks to improve to 7-3 over Jacksonville, who has had a rough year starting 1-8 in through nine games. No matter
