Costas needs mulligan after first pitch goes awry at Busch Stadium

ST. LOUIS -- If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Right, Bob Costas?

The MLB Network play-by-play man and longtime St. Louisan threw a ceremonial first pitch before Tuesday night's Reds-Cardinals game at Busch Stadium.

Costas was seen before the game warming up with Cardinals catcher A.J. Pierzynski, who would also be behind the plate to receive his pitch.

Apparently, the extra practice didn't help.

When Costas' first pitch didn't go so hot -- not 50 Cent bad, by any means -- he asked for the ball back and gave it another go.

On the bright side for Costas, his first-pitch mulligan was nowhere near as bad as Miss Texas' attempt over the weekend.
