Bucks exercise Parker's 4th-year option, extend contract through 2017-18

Forward Jabari Parker has gotten an early vote of confidence from the Milwaukee Bucks' brass.

The Bucks announced Wednesday they have exercised Parker's fourth-year option, extending his rookie deal through the 2017-18 season.

The 21-year-old was the second overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft following a standout freshman season at Duke, before tearing his ACL after just 25 games during his rookie season.

He returned to the Bucks last season, appearing in 76 games (72 starts) while averaging 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

Parker has impressed in the preseason this year, averaging 16.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals in five exhibition games so far.
