Braun's elbow keeps him out of the lineup
Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun is out of Wednesday's lineup against Cincinnati, the result of an elbow injury he sustained when being hit by a pitch in Tuesday’s game against the Reds.
Braun told reporters Wednesday morning that he wasn't able to bend his arm fully in the hours before Wednesday's getaway game.
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said he doesn't expect the injury to be a serious issue going forward. He also remained optimistic that Braun would be in the lineup when Milwaukee returned to action Friday after Thursday's day off.
"Sometimes you get hit in good spots, you can play the next day," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke told reporters. “But with the off-day tomorrow, I don't think it'll be an issue."
Wednesday's game will be the fifth Braun has missed this season. He continues to hit at an even better pace than during his 2011 NL MVP season, batting .311 with 20 home runs and 52 RBI.
