CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Gerald Henderson scored 19 points and the Charlotte Bobcats held off a late rally to beat the Washington Wizards 100-88 in the teams' preseason opener Sunday.
Byron Mullens added 18 points, including a key 3-pointer down the stretch, and Ben Gordon had 16 for the Bobcats, who closed out the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season with a 23-game losing streak on the way to a league-worst 7-59 record.
Charlotte, which led 56-42 at the half, also got 14 points from Ramon Sessions and 12 from first-round draft pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.
Bradley Beal and Martell Webster scored 18 points each and Kevin Seraphin had 11 for the Wizards, who played without starters John Wall (patella), Nene (foot) and Emeka Okafor (soreness).
