Best reaction to this Ray Rice mess? Empower the female voice

Our own Katie Nolan dropped a special video on Tuesday, this time putting jokes aside to deliver a powerful message — the need to let women have a serious voice in sports discourse.

In the last 24 hours, we've seen plenty of commentary from around the sports media world on Rice and the NFL's handling of the situation. Some of it was spot-on, some of it was tone deaf, but most of it was from men. It's time, Katie says, for that to change.

The money line: "It's time for the conversation to change — or at least those participating in the conversation. It's time for women to have a seat at the big-boy table. And not where their presence is a gimmick, or a concept, just a person who happens to have breasts offering their opinions on the sports they love and the topics they know."
