An Auburn legend saying "Roll Tide?"

Charles Barkley says Johnny Manziel has him on the edge of pulling for No. 1 Alabama as it faces No. 5 Texas A&M on Saturday in College Station.

"Johnny Manziel, he's doing something I never thought was possible," Barkley told Waddle and Silvey on ESPN 1000 in Chicago on Tuesday. "He's going to make me root for Alabama this weekend.

"I never thought I would say those words. I am so close to saying 'Roll Tide.' Johnny Manziel is annoying me so much. I'm really close to saying 'Roll Tide.'"

When told fans of his alma mater may not appreciate that, Barkley went on to slam Johnny Football and take a stab at Miley Cyrus in the process.

"They're not going to be happy," Barkley admitted. "But let me tell you something. Johnny Manziel, oh my God, the only thing saving Manziel is Miley Cyrus."

"I just think that Johnny Manziel has done a lot of stupid stuff in the last three or four months."

The SEC Player of the Year in 1984 while playing for the Tigers, Barkley has never been one to hide his disdain of the Tide. Back in February, on the heels of four Alabama players being arrested after allegedly robbing and beating two students, Barkley showed up on the TNT set in Houston with fake bandages around his head.

“Ernie, you’re not gonna believe this,” Barkley said to co-host Ernie Johnson. “Being the Auburn guy that I am, I wanted to be first class. I went down to the University of Alabama to congratulate the Crimson Tide on winning a BCS Championship and I got mugged. I got mugged in Tuscaloosa, Ernie, and my credit cards are missing.”
