Astros prospect's first homer of season caught by dad

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 3:20 p.m. ET

It's not Father's Day yet, but Astros prospect Conrad Gregor gave his dad an early gift.

The Quad Cities River Bandits first baseman hit his first home run of the season on Saturday, and his father was in the right place at the right time to catch it.

"He may have to watch every game from out there," Gregor told the Quad-City Times. "It's a little unbelievable, but I'm glad my parents were here to see it and when I got back to the dugout, I heard he made a pretty good catch."

The three-run homer also gave the Astros' Single-A affiliate the lead and a 5-2 win over Cedar Rapids.
