Are the Lakers having a baby?
Somebody get a box of cigars and a purple-and-gold blankie. The Lakers are having a baby!
It's true. They're getting epidurals (Steve Nash) and an ultrasound (Steve Blake), which helps explain how they have fallen behind 0-2 in their first-round Western Conference playoff series against the San Antonio Spurs.
If the Lakers are lucky, they'll give birth to a shooting guard.
"Unfortunately, I tweaked it in the first half," Nash said not of a womb, but of his injured hip. "I tried to keep going. It got worse as the game went on."
Blake has a hamstring problem, and he'll receive an ultrasound on Thursday to help diagnose the problem.
"If it's something that I can deal with, I'll deal with it, but I just don't know right now," he said.
We'll see if the Lakers can deliver Friday in Game 3.
