Arcia, Duplantier earn minor-league honors for May

PHOENIX -- Triple-A Reno outfielder Oswaldo Arcia and Single-A Kane County starting pitcher Jon Duplantier were named the Diamondbacks' minor league Player and Pitcher of the Month for May.

Arcia, 26, hit .367 with 12 doubles, six home runs and 29 RBI in 22 games for the Aces. He's hitting .366 for the season with 13 homers and 55 RBI. He leads the Pacific Coast League in RBI and OPS (1.177).

Duplantier, 22, is the first pitcher to earn the honor in consecutive months since Archie Bradley in 2013. He was 4-0 with 34 strikeouts and an 0.79 ERA in 34 innings for the Cougars. A third-round draft pick out of Rice in 2016, he was also the pitcher of the month in April, when he did not allow an earned run in his first four starts, covering 20 innings. He's 5-0 on the season with a Midwest League-leading 0.50 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 54 1/3 innings.

Reno: Arcia and Braden Shipley

Double-A Jackson: First baseman Kevin Cron and Daniel Gibson.

Advanced-A Visalia: First baseman Marty Herun and Jose Almonte.

Kane County: Shortstop Mark Karaviotis and Duplantier.

Extended spring: Outfielder Eduardo Diaz and Jhoan Duran.
