6N: Hardie back for Scotland after 3-month ban

EDINBURGH, Scotland (AP) John Hardie is back in the Scotland squad ahead of round four of the Six Nations after serving a three-month ban for gross misconduct following alleged cocaine use.

The 29-year-old flanker made his return to rugby last month and has started two games for his Edinburgh club to force his way into Scotland coach Gregor Townsend's plans.

Scotland assistant coach Mike Blair says of Hardie: ''He's had his time off. He's been helped through that and now he can focus on his rugby.''

Also among the 10 players called up by Scotland for Saturday's match against Ireland was lock Richie Gray, who has recovered from a long-term back injury.

The Scots are coming off a 25-13 win over England that lifted them into third place. They are without an away win in the tournament, outside of Italy, since beating Ireland in 2010.
