Report: NHL requests video of knee-on-knee hit by Blue Jackets' Clarkson
Columbus Blue Jackets forward David Clarkson could be hearing from the NHL after his knee-on-knee hit with Minnesota Wild forward Justin Fontaine in the opening moments of Thursday's preseason game.
Before any phone call will come from the league, it first has to see the video. The Blue Jackets did their best to accommodate by providing footage of the non-televised game to the NHL, according to Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch.

Clarkson was given a major penalty for kneeing and a game misconduct just 63 seconds into the contest. Minnesota coach Mike Yeo told reporters that Fontaine suffered a bruised leg and sore side following the hit in the Wild's 5-2 victory.
While Clarkson was relieved that Fontaine did not suffered a serious injury, the 31-year-old told fellow Columbus Dispatch reporter Shawn Mitchell that he wasn't worried about additional league discipline.

Clarkson had been punished by the NHL just two years ago following a preseason incident, as the then-Toronto Maple Leafs forward received a 10-game suspension after leaving the bench to join a line brawl against the Buffalo Sabres.
