With just over two months remaining until this season's Winter Classic between the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens, the Bruins are ready to reveal their final jersey design.

The team held a press conference Saturday to debut the outdoor sweaters, and Zdeno Chara, David Krejci and Tuukka Rask served as models for black sweater with a logo resembling the one the Bruins used back in 1924-26.

The jersey is very different from the mustard yellow one with a spoked B that the team wore back when it hosted the 2010 Winter Classic at Fenway Park. A description on the team's website revealed more insight into the design of the 2016 Winter Classic jersey, which will be played at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.

The players seem to like the combination of a modern yet vintage style; Chara offered rave reviews of the new jersey.

"It’s very beautiful — honestly, it’s very simple, but right to the point," Chara told the team website.

The uniform is inspired from the first uniform worn by the Boston Bruins in their inaugural year of 1924-25. The striping pattern recalls the original uniform, but has been updated in the Bruins current identity colors of Black & Gold, connecting the past and current Bruins color identity

A unique crewneck collar was developed specifically for this historic matchup, reflecting a more literal interpretation of the "sweaters" worn from that era.

The number system was developed to mimic numbers worn in these early days of the franchise, and are executed in a retro off white coloration, with traditional stitching techniques.
