Lightning rule out Carle for Game 4

Published May. 22, 2015 12:12 p.m. ET

Tampa defenseman Matt Carle left Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals after a collision with the Rangers' Derek Stepan, and it looks like Carle is set to miss more time.

According to multiple reports on Twitter, Lightning coach Jon Cooper ruled Carle out for Game 4 with an undisclosed injury.

Sportsnet's Chris Johnston said on Twitter that the Lightning might replace Carle with 25-year-old Mark Barberio, who has yet to play in the postseason. The defenseman played in 52 games during the regular season and averaged 16:46 minutes of time on ice per game.
