Kane on Blackhawks' 11-game win streak: 'It's been a good little run'

Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane isn't focusing on the team's franchise high-tying 11-game winning streak, but rather the traditional - and ever-so-exciting - one-game-at-a-time approach.

If that's indeed the case, Kane likely isn't looking forward to packing his suitcase as the Blackhawks play seven of their next eight contests on the road. As for the immediate, the talented forward is headed to the site of the upcoming NHL All-Star Game on Tuesday as Chicago (31-13-4) looks to surpass the franchise mark of the 2012-13 club with a victory against the Central Division-rival Nashville Predators (20-17-8).

"I think we're trending in the right direction, but not at all satisfied. I think the reason we've been winning games is we've been taking it one at a time, not looking too far ahead or too far in the past to see which way we've been playing. It's been a good little run here for us."

It's been quite the run as well for Kane, who was named the NHL's First Star of the Week on Monday. The 27-year-old scored four goals and set up three others in four games to pick up the honor - highlighted by his first career regular-season hat trick in a 4-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday.

Kane added a goal and an assist in Chicago's 5-2 triumph over Montreal two nights later, marking the team's sixth consecutive win at the United Center. The Blackhawks, who lead the NHL with 20 home victories and 41 points, are six wins shy from matching the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins for the NHL record.

Kane leads the league in goals (29), assists (40) and points (69) and pretty much is the front-runner for the Hart Trophy.

Of course, Kane isn't interested in looking that far ahead.
